In the latter days of Robin Williams’ life, his understanding wife discloses a tragic reality

Even though the untimely death of the larger-than-life comic Robin Williams occurred more than seven years ago, his legacy and spirit live on in our hearts.

The world was shocked by Williams’s death, and many people thought that his decision to commit suicide was motivated by drug addiction and depression.

However, it turns out that Robin Williams’s untimely demise was caused by something quite different. Susan Schneider Williams, Robin’s widow, made the decision to be clean about what actually killed her husband for this reason.

At his Paradise Cay, California, home, Robin Williams was discovered dead in his bedroom on August 11, 2014. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office reports that suffocation by hanging was the cause of death. During an emotional interview in 2015, Susan recounted her last discussion with her husband, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Robin had intended to check into a facility for neuropsychological testing a week before he passed away. Robin inquired about Susan’s desire for a foot massage the night before he passed away. Naturally, Susan declined the offer because she couldn’t have predicted what was about to happen.

Then he departed. Upon returning to the chamber a few times, he wished Susan a good night, to which she replied, “Good night, my love.” They were both her and his final words to each other.

In ensuing interviews, Susan clarified that she doesn’t hold Robin responsible for taking his own life and that she has forgiven him. She was aware that those would have been difficult years for him and that he didn’t have many years left. She was at her husband’s side that awful day when emergency personnel arrived at the house and attempted to save his life.

And all I wanted to do was see my hubby. And I was able to see him. and I shared in his prayer. I had the opportunity to tell him, “I forgive you completely, fifty billion percent.” The bravest man I’ve ever met is you. We were really living in a nightmare, Susan added.

Although it’s unknown if Robin’s family arranged a private funeral, we do know that his remains were cremated at San Anselmo’s Monte’s Chapel of the Hills.
