John Goodman Looks Unrecognizable in New Photo with David DeLuise

John Goodman looks like a completely different person these days. The 74 year old actor appeared almost unrecognizable in a new photo taken with Wizards of Waverly Place star David DeLuise after the two unexpectedly ran into each other inside a grocery store. DeLuise shared the candid snapshot on Instagram on August 6 and the images quickly spread as fans did double takes at Goodman’s slimmed down appearance.

“He was my childhood!! Legend!” DeLuise wrote in the caption. “I love that I get to say that to someone ;), if you know you know.”

Goodman has been quietly committed to a healthier lifestyle for years. Back in 2010 he told PEOPLE he had already lost more than 100 pounds by cutting sugar from his diet and working out six days a week.

He also quit drinking in 2007 after reaching a point where he no longer wanted to look at himself in the mirror. At his heaviest the Roseanne star was pushing 400 pounds. Over time the changes stuck and he has continued maintaining a cleaner routine that includes regular movement and better eating habits.

The transformation has left many fans stunned in the best way. Comments under the Instagram post poured in with people calling him a living legend and noting how different yet healthy he looks now. Goodman has largely stayed out of the social media spotlight himself, so this rare public glimpse of him out running everyday errands felt especially meaningful to those who grew up watching him on screen.
