Kat Von D – family, husband, children, net worth

Kat Von D was born Katherine von Drachenberg on Mars 8, 1982, in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Mexico. At the age of 6, she migrated to the US with her parents.

“I was six years old, and the seven-hour drive that it took to reach the Texas border felt like weeks,” she recalled. “Even though I didn’t fully understand what big changes were ahead, I felt it. I think we all did.”

While growing up, she fell in love with music and makeup, and at the age of 14, she became attracted to tattoos and got her first ink.

She had to drop out of school and opened a tattoo shop as she was very talented and her parents supported her decision.

Kat told the Fix, “I felt like it was a luxury to be able to do something that you love.”

She needed more experience and went on to work at Sin City Tattoo in San Bernadino, Los Angeles, California. The shop was owned by Dave Smith and he took his time to teach her all that she needed to know.

Kat recalled, “I took my portfolio in and all of my drawings and said to the guy who ran the shop, ‘look, I know I’m under age but I want to do this. And he said, ‘I will take you on. I can see from your work that you are really good, and you can go somewhere with this.’ Dave taught me a lot about all aspects of tattooing, sterility, needles, and machines, things that I had no clue about as I had missed out on the apprentice side of things.”

She stayed in the shop for a year before moving to Los Angeles. It didn’t take long for people to see her talents as she was asked to fill in for tattoo artist Daren Brass on the TLC show Miami Ink.

She became a celebrity after appearing on the show and went on to start her spinoff show, LA ink.

In 2007 she became a world guineas, Golder, for tattooing 400 persons in a day even though it was later broken by Robbie Koch, who tattooed 577 people in a day.

Kat got married for the first time in 2003 to Oliver Perk. Their marriage ended four years after.

She got married for the second time to Rafael Reyes and they were deeply in love.

Initially, kat never wanted kids as she didn’t want her body to go through that and wanted to live her life to the fullest. It came as a shock to many when she posted on her Instagram page that she has welcomed a son, Leafar Von D Reyes.

She’s quite doing well for herself at the moment and is currently worth around $30 million.
