Man Drowns Trying To Propose To His Girlfriend Under Water On Holiday
An American man passed away just after proposing to his girlfriend while the couple were on vacation in Tanzania. Reports reveal that Steven Weber and would-be-fiance Kenesha Antoine were staying in a wooden cabin that had a partly submerged structure enabling them to look out under the ocean.
Weber who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, decided to use the structure for a unique proposal. He dived into the water and held up a sheet of paper to the window asking Ms Antoine to marry him.
The paper read, “I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you,” the letter read. “But… Everything I love about you, I love more every day!”
“Will you please be my wife? Marry me???” The other side of the paper read.
Weber then got out an engagement ring from his pocket before swimming out of view. Unfortunately, he never emerged from the water.
On her social media page, Ms Antoine uploaded the touching footage of her proposal. She can be heard happily exclaiming “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
Not long afterwards, Ms Antoine posted an update confirming that Weber had drowned. She wrote, “There are no words adequate enough to honor the beautiful soul that is Steven Weber Jr.
“You never emerged from those depths so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!
“We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable.
“I will try to take solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together.”
We are sending out our thoughts and prayers to Kenesha and Steven’s family at this difficult time.
