More than two decades ago, according to Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves brought her truffles and champage

Sandra Bullock claims that when she confessed she had never tried truffles or champagne, Keanu Reeves once showed up at her house with both. Sandra Bullock remembers a kind act made by Keanu Reeves.

While filming 1994’s Speed, Bullock and Reeves—both 57—met for the first time. Bullock and Esquire became good friends while working together on the set. One day, Bullock confessed to Esquire that she hadn’t tasted truffles and Champagne.

He came inside and sat on Bullock’s couch while she poured Champagne and opened the truffles, saying, “I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like.”

Bullock claimed that as Reeves extended his hands, she even painted his nails black—the same shade that she had been wearing on herself.

Bullock said, “He listens,” to Esquire. And it moves. Individuals. Absurd.

Bullock claimed that Reeves had a date to attend, so he didn’t stay there for very long after dropping off the truffles and Champagne. Bullock cited her costar’s thoughtful action as an excellent illustration of his listening abilities.

“That’s what I mean that it drives you crazy,” she told Esquire. “When I first met him, I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable. And the more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get.

“And I thought, I don’t understand what’s happening!,” she continued. “He’s looking at me with eyes of confusion. He’s quiet. Did I say something to offend him? And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, ‘I thought about what you said.’ And he would have his response.”

Bullock added, “How many people do you know like that?”

Bullock maintained that she and Reeves never dated, despite the fact that he surprised her with a romantic gesture that day. However, she did make the suggestion that they may have made a compatible pair.

Bullock also shared with Esquire her belief that, had they developed a romantic interest in one another, she and Reeves “may have survived” as a relationship.

She clarified, “I feel like Keanu’s friends with every woman he’s ever dated.” Nobody, in my opinion, has anything negative to say about him. So maybe we could have made it through. I’m not sure.

“But we didn’t have to survive anything,” she said. All we get to do is grow up next to each other on parallel roads, shake hands, have dinner together, and attempt to cooperate.

If he had gotten me upset and dumped me, could I still say that? Most likely not, Bullock remarked.
