New Demand Letter in Nancy Guthrie Case Claims Video from Her Alleged Last Day

A new demand letter has surfaced in the case of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, and it brings a striking claim. The sender says they possess a short video showing her with one of her alleged kidnappers on what was probably her last day.

The message, sent to TMZ and passed along to the FBI, also mentions two people involved in her disappearance from her home in Tucson on February 1 and offers pictures, names, addresses, and ages of those responsible.

The writer describes keeping a phone tucked away in a secure but reachable location. It holds what they called “a short video of the main guy with nancy the day that was probably her last,” along with the other identifying details. They say they will hand over the password once money is sent to a Bitcoin account. TMZ has confirmed the email came from the same person who sent earlier ransom letters in the case. The sender added that they had nothing to do with a recent false tip about a possible burial site in Mexico.

Law enforcement has not commented on this latest message. Both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department continue to treat the investigation as active and have kept details close to the vest. A previous ransom demand reportedly sought six million dollars, and some of the communications have been viewed as credible enough to warrant serious attention.

Savannah Guthrie has stayed vocal and visible throughout the nearly five-month ordeal. She recently grew emotional on air while talking about the case, fighting back tears as she begged anyone with information to come forward. She described the constant agony her family lives with and said someone out there knows something. Colleagues reached out to comfort her during the difficult moment.

Earlier this month, search efforts gained momentum after an anonymous tip pointed to possible remains near the Mexican border, but that lead turned up nothing. The FBI is still offering a reward of up to fifty thousand dollars for information that leads to Nancy’s recovery or the arrest of anyone involved.
