The queen has been reigning for over 70 years and she’s quite slowing down as she’s getting older. The last two years have been filled with a lot of tribulations, ranging from the covid 19 lockdowns, the passing away of Philip and also Charles and Meghan leaving the Royal family.

Phillip was just few months shy to his 100th birthday when he passed away which left a huge hole in the hearts of the Queen.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” The Royal Family tweeted on April 9th.

The Queen said her final goodbye to Philip during his funeral on 17th April where only 30 people were in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions in the U.K.

The Queen over the past few months has avoided high-profile engagements, and it’s likely not to attend any public events. There have been many speculations about what she will be doing on her birthday and finally a source seems to finally answer the question.

“The Queen decided very recently that on her birthday she wanted to be as close as possible to her late husband and in an environment that was very close to both of their hearts.

Sandringham holds so many special memories for the Queen and Prince Philip as well as the rest of the royal family.”

The Royal Source explained, “It’s certainly a positive step that Her Majesty is feeling well enough and rested to enjoy her upcoming mini-break which she thoroughly deserves to celebrate her birthday.”

It is a great thing she is finally leaving her space as many people have been concerned about her mobility for the past few months. She was last seen outside during the funeral services of Charles and has cancelled other important events in the past few weeks like the Royal Maundy Thursday service and the Easter Sunday church service, which both took place at St George’s chapel. It’s the first time in 50 years she has missed such important events and everyone was worried for her sake.

Happy birthday Queen Elizabeth and we wish you many more years.
