Trump Calls Barron ‘Honey’: Surprising Father-Son Nickname Revealed in New Book Sparks Reactions

Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron, is now 20 years old and studying in Washington. While much of their father-son relationship stays out of the public eye, a surprising little detail has recently surfaced about the nickname Donald uses for him.

Barron Trump grew up largely shielded from the spotlight. At 20, he is pursuing studies at NYU’s Stern Business School on its Washington campus and is often described as a quiet, private young man who rarely seeks attention.

Throughout his childhood and during his father’s time in the White House, Barron has always held a special place in the family. Donald once joked that he would not be the one changing diapers when Barron was a baby, leaving that to Melania while focusing on helping raise him into a fine person.

In public, Trump has occasionally shared warm glimpses of his youngest son, talking about his impressive height and passion for soccer. During the campaign for his second term, Barron reportedly played a bigger role behind the scenes, helping his dad connect with younger voters through podcasters and online influencers.

When Trump won the election, he took a moment during a big gathering of supporters in Washington to praise his son. “He knew the youth vote,” Trump said. “You know we won the youth vote by 36 points. He was saying, dad, I got to go out and do this and that one and we did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood it very well. He said dad, you got to go out and do Joe Rogan, all these guys that we did. They were all great, right? Barron, they were all great.”

Not much is known about the private side of their relationship, but it turns out nicknames have been part of it. Melania once shared that she used to call her son “Little Donald,” describing him as a strong-minded, smart, independent boy who knows exactly what he wants.

So what about Donald? According to a new book, he has an unexpectedly sweet nickname for his tall, grown son. In their upcoming title Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan share that the president calls Barron “Honey.”

The moment reportedly happened after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Worried, Barron called his father right away. Trump responded calmly, saying something like “Calm down, honey, calm down.”

This glimpse into their bond has sparked plenty of reactions online, with many people finding the tender nickname both surprising and touching coming from the often tough-talking former president.
