Trump Gets Called Out for Forgetting Melania’s Home Country at Her Movie Premiere
Donald Trump showed up with his wife at the premiere of her new documentary, simply called “Melania.” Lately, a bunch of experts have been raising eyebrows about his health. And his awkward moment on the red carpet isn’t helping—folks are saying he blanked on where Melania is actually from.
The documentary follows Melania’s journey right up to the 2025 inauguration. It got announced just a few weeks before that big day and hit theaters on Friday, January 30.

But the buzz leading up hasn’t been all sunshine. Trump hyped it on Truth Social, saying tickets were flying off the shelves, but that might be stretching it.
People on social media are posting pics of theater seat maps from various cities, and a lot of them show zero tickets sold for the film.
With sales looking this dismal, the movie could end up being a total flop financially.
Journalist Rob Shuter says that because tickets aren’t moving, some Republican groups in conservative spots are secretly snapping up whole screenings to prop up Melania’s project.
Trump and Melania Hit the Red Carpet for Her New Doc
Even with the lackluster interest, the premiere at the Kennedy Center in D.C. on Thursday was pretty glitzy.
Big names like U.S. Attorney Alina Habba and Speaker Mike Johnson strutted the red carpet. Naturally, Donald and Melania were there too. Chatting with Fox News, Trump gave props to his wife, noting she’s been more vocal in her second stint as First Lady.
“I’ve seen it myself,” he said. “She’s speaking out more now. That just comes with the territory. She’s doing fantastic—super popular and respected.”
Melania chimed in: “I pick my spots carefully when I speak. That’s how I roll. I’m all about getting things done, and we had a solid first year in the office. I’m really proud of our accomplishments.”
Sure, Trump’s moves as president—like that Greenland drama, the Epstein docs, and the big push on immigration via ICE—have grabbed headlines. But at the same time, plenty of people are questioning his health.

Experts like former White House doc Jeffrey Kuhlman say he’s not as sharp as the administration claims, and some even toss around words like dementia.
Accusations Fly That Trump Forgot Melania’s Birthplace
Critics highlight stuff like him repeating himself or mixing up countries, say Greenland and Iceland, as red flags. Now, this red carpet slip-up at Melania’s premiere is adding fuel to the fire.
The 79-year-old seemed to draw a blank on where his wife of two decades hails from.
“She comes from this distant country—a great one, clean, gorgeous, safe. No big issues like some places. But yeah, a really secure, solid spot,” Trump said about his Slovenian-born spouse.
He went on: “It’s unique, and she speaks tons of languages—super smart, gets how things work. She’s a good influence on me too.”
Folks on social media jumped on it right away, claiming he forgot her origins.
“He straight-up doesn’t know his wife’s country,” one X user posted.
“Did he just forget where his wife is from? Haha,” another quipped, with someone replying, “Bet he never knew in the first place.”
A third added, “Trump’s probably struggling to keep track of everyone’s backgrounds,” and a fourth joked, “He couldn’t find Slovenia on a map. Half the time he thinks it’s Slovakia.”
