According to an acquaintance, the royal family wants Harry and Meghan to be “sitting in Iceland” at the coronation
The coronation of King Charles and Camilla will take place on May 6, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been formally invited. The occasion falls on their son Archie’s birthday, though it is unknown if the soon-to-be 4-year-old and his sister Lilibet will also be present for their grandfather’s special day.
It’s reasonable to assume that Harry and Meghan don’t have the best of relationships with the Royal Family. The likes of Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles, and Camilla have been discussed in great detail through the Netflix series, the numerous interviews, and Harry’s book, Spare.
As a result, lots of people are now making predictions about the drama that would develop if Harry and Meghan go to the coronation. The Daily Mail reports that certain Royal Family members have already made up their minds not to interact with the pair after May 6. They should also sit as far away as they can.
In Harry’s book, Spare, a number of royals, including King Charles, Camilla, the Queen Consort, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, were harshly criticised. Prince Harry and Meghan have been rumoured to be attending Charles’ coronation on May 6, but last week, the topic was formally put to rest.
“I can confirm the duke has lately received email correspondence from His Majesty’s administration regarding the coronation,” a couple representative stated. We won’t make a choice right away on the Duke and Duchess’ attendance public.
King Charles definitely wants his son to be present for his special day, but their relationship still appears to be in serious trouble. In addition, it seems that some members of the Royal Family have expressed their unhappiness over Harry and Meghan possibly attending the coronation.
A representative for Harry and Meghan recently announced that they have been asked to leave their home at Frogmore Cottage. Only days following the publication of Harry’s narrative, King Charles is reported to have decided to remove the Sussexes’ British base.
Over the years, Harry and Meghan have been known to receive support from Princess Eugenie. According to reports, she is the only royal to have paid them a visit at their Montecito, California, residence.
If they want to attend the coronation, Harry and Meghan would probably spend a lot of time with Eugenie, but it seems that other family members don’t want to interact with them.
Harry and Meghan would receive the “cold shoulder” from numerous relatives, a royal family friend who spoke with the Daily Mail stated.
One of them told me, “I hope they’ll be seated in Iceland,” the family friend said.
Given how critical Harry and Meghan have been of the Royal Family, that is hardly unexpected. When the couple permanently left the UK and later took part in the now-famous Oprah interview, Meghan didn’t waste any time in making a number of stunning statements. She added that when she asked for assistance while fighting poor mental health, the Duchess was met with silence. She claimed that a “unnamed royal” had inquired about the then-unborn Archie’s potential skin colour.
Former butler and friend of Princess Diana, Paul Burrell, has speculated that the pair might not make the trip to the coronation together.
Harry and Meghan’s reunion with the Royal Family will be “very awkward,” according to Burrell, who was speaking with Express.
I don’t believe Meghan is courageous or strong enough to be there, he continued, because she would have to face the family she had thrown under the bus.
“She’s probably told him she won’t be able to be by his side with him if he does attend,” I believe Harry may attend alone.
Do you think Harry and Meghan will attend King Charles and Camila’s coronation?
