Adam Marcus Calls Val Kilmer ‘Worst Human Being’ He Ever Worked With on Conspiracy Movie

Director Adam Marcus is speaking out about his tough experience working with the late Val Kilmer on a movie from years back. He did not hold back in calling the actor one of the most difficult people he has ever come across.

Marcus who is known for directing horror films like Jason Goes to Hell shared some strong words about Kilmer in a recent social media post that has since been taken down. He was talking about their time on the set of the 2008 thriller Conspiracy.

In the post Marcus referred to Kilmer as the guy who played Iceman in Top Gun and Doc Holliday in Tombstone. He described him as someone who made the whole production really challenging.

According to reports Marcus wrote that if Kilmer acted the same way today he would have been canceled right away. He went on to say that Kilmer was the worst human being he has ever known and that is saying a lot coming from him.

The movie itself did not get great reviews. It starred Kilmer as a disabled special ops veteran and it ended up going straight to DVD. Critics were pretty harsh about it with some calling it downright bad.

Kilmer faced his own battles later on. He was diagnosed with throat cancer a few years after the film came out. He fought through it publicly even after losing his voice but he kept acting and sharing his story. Sadly he passed away in April 2025 from pneumonia at the age of 65.

In his 2021 documentary called Val Kilmer reflected on his life and career. He admitted to behaving poorly at times and even bizarrely but he said he had no regrets. He felt blessed overall for the journey he had been on.

It is always interesting when stories from old film sets come back up especially after someone is no longer here. Marcus seemed ready for any pushback about speaking ill of the dead but he stood by his memories of what happened during that production.

This whole situation has people talking again about Kilmer’s reputation in Hollywood and how complex his legacy really is.
