Blanket “Bigi” Jackson, the son of Michael Jackson, appears fully grown in a new, rare interview

In a recent, uncommon interview, Bigi, the son of Michael Jackson (whom many of us initially known as Blanket), appears to be fully grown up. Bigi, who is now 19 years old, spoke with Good Morning Britain on November 1. Bigi was also taking a look around a room filled with his late father’s mementos as the interview was going on.

Twelve years after his father’s unexpected passing, he also discussed his father’s legacy. Bigi surveys the space and remarks, “I think there’s a lot of history in this house and studio here. And that’s what he stood for, and that’s basically what we [his sister and brother] all want to do: create things that people would ideally like but that will also improve their lives.

On October 28, his brother Prince Jackson also talked with Good Morning Britain. He talked about the values their father had ingrained in them when they were young.

When Prince and his siblings were young, their father used to tell them, “You look around this room, your brother, your sister, and I, that’s all you’ll ever have,” Prince said. “And considering how well my siblings and I get along, that has always resonated with us. My father used to always remind me that as the oldest, I need to make sure that the group is taken care of and that I need to be the leader and set an example.

But after his passing and after we were thrust into the “real world,” he continues, In all honesty, my siblings took up the slack that I sadly neglected.

In addition, Prince says he cherishes any opportunity he has to spend time with his brothers and relatives. Every opportunity I have to spend time with them—whether it’s a quick family supper or a short family outing—is truly meaningful to me.
