He declared in January 2018 that he would stop touring after receiving a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

The condition “makes it difficult to travel and perform on a wide scale basis,” according to a statement on his website.

“I regretfully announce my retirement from concert travelling with much difficulty. For the past 50 years, I have been extremely pleased to present my performances to the general audience, he stated at the time.
