First lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska didn’t want to date Volodymyr Zelenskyy initially

Olena Zelenska, the first lady of Ukraine didn’t want to date her now husband, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and listening to their love story and how they came to be together amidst all others is a source of inspiration to many.

The couple is said to be going through the worst moment of their life at the moment, but they still have each others back and willing to help the country in anyway they can.

Their story has motivated a lot of people and looking at their story towards the presidential seat, it’s worth hearing. When Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he was going to run for the presidential seat to Olena Zelenska said was not happy about his decision and worst still she found out on social media.

“I was not too happy when I realized that those were the plans. I realized how everything would change and what difficulties we would have to face,” Olena said. “When I asked, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ Vladimir answered: ‘I forgot.’ My husband knows how to surprise,” she added. “But, if seriously, we had been discussing this issue for a long time, and I said that I would always support him.”

The duo met each other while they were in the university. The first time they met Zelenska was dating someone else and on the part of Volodymyr Zelenskyy he felt he has found his better half.

Zelenskyy had a history with girls and it didn’t take long for him to get their love, but in the case of Zelenska it was different.

“He immediately made attempts to look after me, and I didn’t really want that at that time,” she said. “But our conversations convinced me of the opposite. We looked in the same direction, we liked the same music, we could talk about anything. In a relationship, that is very important.”

They got married on September 6, 2003 after dating for eight years.

Zelenska worker as a writer while her husband worked as acomedian and it didn’t take long for him to be a superstar through the Ukrainian comedy series Servant of the People. 

The show ended in 2019 because Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the star of the show became the president.

When the election was conducted, Volodymyr Zelenskyy won with more than 73% of the votes.

He’s known worldwide for his unconventional method of rising to the presidential seat. We wish him and his family all the best in this trying period.
