Angelina Jolie is an international activist who supports kindness and fairness. She made headlines in 2002 when she opted to adopt a baby from Cambodia, in addition to her humanitarian and philanthropic efforts. Maddox, as her oldest son, is the start of a lovely blended family.
We at Ternuritas researched the tale of infant Maddox and Angelina, fell in love with it, and think it’s worth sharing. Angelina Jolie had no desire to become a mother at the time.
Angelina Jolie is the mother of six children, three of whom were adopted. Even though it’s hard to believe, the famous actress stated unequivocally that she never wanted to get pregnant, saying, “I never wanted to be pregnant.” I’ve never babysat before. “I’ve never considered myself a mother.” She altered her mind after her trip to Cambodia and began to see things in a new light.
Cambodia holds a particular place in Jolie’s heart because it is where she shot her blockbuster picture Tomb Raider in 2000. She fell in love with the people and was enthralled by the events taking place in the country at the time.
In 2001, she approached the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to become a goodwill ambassador after the country awakened her humanitarian side. “That journey sparked my realisation of how little I knew and the start of my hunt for that knowledge,” she says.
And if that wasn’t enough to cement her bond with Cambodia, she also paid a visit to an orphanage, where she met her first son, Maddox. Out of the hundreds of orphaned babies in the country, she chose Maddox.
The Hollywood beauty was visiting a Cambodian orphanage with her then-husband, Billy Bob Thornton, when she came across baby Maddox, whose fate was about to alter. “As far as I understand from her, when she visited the place and saw Maddox, he smiled at her and got up instead of sobbing like all the other babies,” a former acquaintance claimed. Maddox was chosen because it touched her heart.”
Maddox’s life was not the only one that changed on that fateful day. The actress discovered her maternal epiphany and her ability to help needy children all across the world at that time. It wasn’t simple to adopt Maddox.
