Will Rock Hunter’s success ruin him? The actress also shared a video of her mum on her Instagram Story.

Mansfield, who was born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933, rose to stardom as one of Hollywood’s biggest blonde bombshells in the 1950s and 1960s. She was regarded as Marilyn Monroe’s doppelganger, dubbed the “Working Man’s Monroe.”

She was a Playboy Playmate and appeared in several films, including The Girl Can’t Help It, Promises! Promises!, and The Sheriff of a Fractured Jaw.

In 1967, her life was cruelly cut short when she was murdered in an automobile accident. Mansfield was 34 years old.

Hargitay, who was three years old at the time, was riding in the backseat with two of her brothers. Mansfield, her attorney and companion Sam Brody, and their driver Ronnie Harrison were all slain instantly.

“I think I learned about crisis when I was a kid, and I learned when I was a kid that s— happens and there are no guarantees, and we keep going.” In 2021, she told Glamour, “And then we transform it.” “That’s kind of been my superpower, and the gift of having trauma early in life.”

“I clearly was in that frozen place for a lot of my childhood — of actually trying to survive,” she added. “My life has been a process of unpeeling the layers of trust and trusting again.”
