Meghan Markle’s Bare-Faced Harper’s Bazaar Cover Is Getting Absolutely Roasted Online
Okay, Meghan Markle just dropped a magazine cover that has the internet in full meltdown mode, and honestly… people are NOT holding back.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, landed the December 2025/January 2026 issue of Harper’s Bazaar US, and she did it completely makeup-free. Like, zero. Nada. Just skin, freckles, and a whole lot of opinions flying around.

She’s sitting on a stool in a gorgeous black silk blazer with a dramatic bow at the waist, against this moody grayscale backdrop. The cover line reads: “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment.” Inside is a super raw, no-filter conversation with writer Kaitlyn Greenidge, where Meghan opens up about everything: falling in love with Harry, launching As Ever (her lifestyle brand), the royal exit drama, and how all the chaos actually helped her grow a backbone.
Some of the quotes are actually pretty real. When talking about boundaries, she said:
“I think my boundaries became stronger once I came into the public eye… You find different ways to protect yourself, whether that’s self-preservation or it’s just growing up.”
And on regrets? “You learn not to do it again. If it all goes swimmingly, you don’t learn from it. If you don’t learn anything, you’re not going to grow.”
Solid, right? Doesn’t matter. The comment sections are brutal.
People are straight-up saying the photographer and magazine must hate her:
“Harper’s Bizarre and the photographer must really despise Meghan Markle. I can’t imagine any magazine letting these pictures be the cover.”
“They forgot the airbrush… and the lighting… and the kindness.”
“Pamela Anderson wannabe.”
“Can we talk about her hairline? It happens to the best of us, but preferably not on a magazine cover.”
“The haggard look with the dead eyes of a soulless shark.”
Ouch.
Of course, not everyone hated it. Some people are obsessed:
“Love this cover! To me it encapsulates strength and vulnerability.”
“This is actually stunning. Raw, powerful, and very her right now.”
The interview reportedly happened at a friend’s townhouse on the Upper East Side (very chic), and the writer said the house manager literally announced “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” when she walked in, even though it was just the two of them in the whole place. The drama of it all.
Five years after Megxit, Meghan and Harry are still very much the Duke and Duchess (just minus the HRH), living their California life with Archie and Lilibet, and clearly still capable of breaking the internet, whether people love it or hate it.
So… what do YOU think of the cover? Team “iconic and brave” or team “what was the lighting department doing that day”? Drop your hot takes, because this one’s going to be debated for weeks.
