Mom of 10-year-old who died in Texas school shooting attended his awards ceremony hours before he was killed

One of the victims’ mother attended an awards ceremony for her young son just hours before he was killed in the horrible school shooting that occurred at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas yesterday.

The tragedy, in which an 18-year-old gunman allegedly entered the grounds of the Robb Elementary School and opened fire in various classrooms, has shocked the world once again.

At the time of writing, 19 pupils and a teacher had died at the school. The shooter, Salvador Ramos, 18, of Uvalde, is thought to have acted alone.

Fourth-grade teacher Eva Mireles, a mother and wife who enjoyed running and hiking, was one of the victims of the massacre. Lydia Martinez Delgado, her aunt, said she had worked for 17 years in the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District.

“I’m upset that these shootings continue,” Delgado said in a statement. These kids are completely innocent. Rifles should not be freely accessible to the general public.
This is my hometown, a little town with a population of less than 20,000 people. I never dreamed this would happen to someone I cared about… All we can do is pray fervently for our country, state, schools, and, most importantly, for all of our families.”

The incident claimed the lives of 19 youngsters, according to reports. Xavier Lopez, 10, is one of the victims, according to ABC7. He was in fourth grade at the time.

The boy’s mother had attended an awards ceremony for her son just hours before he was shot dead, according to Xavier’s cousin. She had no idea that was going to be the final time she saw her baby child alive.

Amerie la Garza, a 10-year-old girl, was also recognised as one of the children killed at the school by her family.

On Tuesday night, her father, Angel Garza, met with US Marshals, who informed him that his daughter was one of the victims.

“Thank you everyone for the prayers and help trying to find my kid,” Angel said in a statement to ABC.

“She’s been discovered.” My tiny angel is now flying with the angels in the sky. Don’t take a single second for granted. Hug your loved ones. Inform them that you adore them. Amerie jo, I adore you. For my sake, keep an eye on your little brother.”

Ramos shot his grandmother before wrecking his car near Robb Elementary School, according to CNN. Despite earlier claims that she had died, she is still in serious condition, according to the latest news.

“The suspect did crash near a ditch near the school,” stated School District Police Chief Pete Arrendondo. He exited his truck with what seemed to be a rifle and attempted to enter the school, where he was confronted by local enforcement.
