Nicole Kidman’s opens up about her failed marriage with Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman is a very talented and successful actress and has made her mark in Hollywood. The American-born Australian star has been through a lot and recently she said her honest words about her painful failed marriage with Tom Cruise.

The duo met for the first time on the set of Movie Days of Thunder and got married in 1990; they became Hollywood’s golden couple.

Tom Cruise was the biggest star of the two and he was the one who so much wanted them to be a couple. Tom first took note of Kidman’s incredible acting skills in Flick Dead Calm, 1989, and persuaded the producers of Days of Thunder, to make her his counterpart.

Sparks flew the second time they met and they were carried away by each other’s personalities. According to Kidman, she was awed the first time she met the handsome and energetic Cruise who was married to actress Mimi Rogers at that time.

She knew she wasn’t going to get married, even though being in a serious relationship before she met Tom. Cruise described Kidman as this soul mate and the love of his life.

She always understood him and they have a special connection. She was like a female version of him and she had a new life in her.

‘’I fell madly, passionately in love. And as it happens, when you fall in love, my whole plan in terms of what I wanted for my life- I was like, ‘Forget it. This is it.’ I was consumed by it, willingly. And I was desperate to have a baby with him. I didn’t care if we were married. That’s what I wish I’d done,’’ Kidman said.

The two superstars tied the knot on Christmas Eve, 1990. They had a quiet wedding in Telluride, a small town in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Kidman suffered an ectopic pregnancy at the age of 23, in 1990. They decided to adopt two children, son Connor Cruise born in 1995, and Isabella Jane Cruise born in 1992.

The union between the two didn’t last as their marriage hit rock bottom after 11 years of marriage. The separation news was a shock to Kidman and it took a long time for her to get over the divorce.

Kidman remarried after Keith Urban and it seems her life is coming back on track.
