Top Doctor Raises Alarming Concerns About Donald Trump’s Health Following Intense Speech

Donald Trump’s recent national address had folks scratching their heads—not so much over his words, but how he came across. A respected doctor and professor is now speaking out, expressing real worry about the president’s well-being after what he called a “manic” delivery.

On Wednesday, the president spoke directly to the American people from the White House. While plenty of people zeroed in on his claims about the economy and immigration—many of which didn’t hold up under scrutiny—others couldn’t shake the feeling that Trump just didn’t seem like himself.

Usually pretty composed, Trump was practically yelling at the camera this time around. The whole thing clocked in at about 20 minutes, with him taking shots at past presidents more than once.

Social media lit up with questions about whether everything was okay with him, and it wasn’t just armchair commentators. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist and professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University, posted on X: “I’m seriously concerned about the health of the president.”

The next day, chatting with CNN’s Jake Tapper on The Lead, Reiner dove deeper into why he thinks something might be off. He described Trump’s speaking style as having a “manic cadence” that was downright unsettling.

“It wasn’t about what he said—that was the usual stuff we’re used to hearing,” Reiner explained. “But the delivery? It came out in this manic, almost frantic rhythm. Like listening to a podcast sped up to double time. That pressured, rapid-fire speech was really disturbing.”

Doctor Calls Trump’s Actions “Disturbing” in Fresh Health Warning

“As the speech went on, he started talking even faster,” Reiner continued. “We’ve never seen him like that before. He looked almost out of control, and it was tough to watch. Especially since he’s not just running the government—he’s the commander-in-chief of the most powerful military on the planet. Seeing that kind of unchecked energy was alarming.”

The White House has fielded questions about Trump’s health before, like those swollen ankles and hand bruises spotted in photos.

Reiner urged more transparency from the administration, saying no one should take comfort in seeing these signs. He also pointed out instances where Trump has nodded off during meetings.

“He’s dozed off in a packed Oval Office, and even at cabinet sessions where people are addressing him directly. That’s what doctors call excessive daytime sleepiness,” Reiner said on CNN. “It could stem from things like sleep apnea, where you wake up repeatedly at night and never really rest. That’s often managed with a CPAP machine, but we’ve heard nothing about the president having that.”

“It’s Jarring”

“It’s startling to watch him swing from nearly asleep in meetings to blasting through a 30-minute speech in just 18 minutes at that breakneck speed.”
