Trump Claps Back at Mamdani’s Victory Speech Taunts

President Donald Trump wasn’t thrilled with the shots fired by New York City’s newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani during his big win speech—and now he’s hitting back, putting his fresh rival on notice.

This week, everyone’s talking about Zohran Mamdani’s groundbreaking win in the NYC mayor’s race. The 34-year-old took the stage in a pumped-up Brooklyn crowd on election night and didn’t hold back, going straight for Donald Trump.

“New York will stay a city of immigrants—built by them, powered by them, and now, tonight, led by one,” he declared. Then he added: “If any place can show a country let down by Donald Trump how to beat him, it’s the city that birthed him.”

He kept the heat on, staring down the crowd and tossing out a direct challenge to the president in just four words: “Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up!”

Trump Doesn’t Hold Back

Trump’s never been a fan of Mamdani—he’s slapped the “communist” label on him more than once, even though Mamdani calls himself a democratic socialist. Folks were eager for Trump’s take on that speech, and on Wednesday, he finally let loose.

Chatting with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Trump said the new mayor crossed a line. He called the victory remarks “angry toward me” and “very dangerous.”

“It’s a very dangerous statement for him to make,” Trump warned. “He has to be a little bit respectful of Washington, because if he’s not, he doesn’t have a chance of succeeding.”

“Slimy Newscum, Right?”

Trump had already threatened to give NYC the bare minimum in federal cash if Mamdani took office. At the America Business Forum in Miami that same Wednesday, he shifted gears to California Governor Gavin Newsom, rolling out a fresh nickname for his old foe.

“Maybe that should be his nickname—Slimy. Slimy Newscum, right?” Trump quipped, getting laughs from the audience.

Newsom fired back quick on X with just two words: “You lost.”

Over in California, Newsom and Secretary of State Shirley Weber are caught up in a lawsuit from state Republicans after voters passed Proposition 50, which lets the state tweak congressional district lines.
