Trump’s ‘Arc de Trump’ Might Run $100M and Dwarf the Lincoln Memorial
Donald Trump never settles for small. He’s already gutted the East Wing to build a grand new White House ballroom, but that’s just the warm-up act. Word is he’s got his eye on something far bigger for Washington, D.C.—something that would make the Lincoln Memorial look modest.
Axios reports that the president is pushing for a massive new monument dubbed the “Arc de Trump.” It’s meant to mark America’s 250th birthday and takes its cue from the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Sources close to Trump say he’s obsessed with the idea—and naturally, he wants the biggest version possible, decked out in gold and white.

The East Wing demolition has people split. Some mourn the loss of history; others cheer the fresh start and see the ballroom as a bold upgrade. Meanwhile, the internet’s been buzzing with memes of Trump’s face carved into Mount Rushmore-style monuments. But this arch idea is real—and it’s spectacular.
Insiders say the project could hit $100 million, funded entirely through private donations. Trump’s already shown off mock-ups to donors, pointing out where it would stand: right at the entrance to the capital, greeting visitors as they cross the Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery.
During a recent Oval Office session, he reportedly told supporters, “Every time someone drives over that bridge to the Lincoln Memorial, they think something’s missing. We’ve got small, medium, and large versions… and the large one looks the best by far.”
One design features soaring marble eagles flanking a golden Lady Liberty at the center. And yes—it would tower over the Lincoln Memorial.
Trump’s team says it’s all about celebrating the nation’s milestone in true American style: bigger, bolder, and unapologetically grand.
