Weeks before passing, actor Ed Asner confessed his biggest ”regret”

Most of us know Ed Asner as a legendary actor and he’s so dominating in the movie industry.

Recently his family made an announcement that left everyone in shock and sorrow. They revealed the award-winning actor passed away on August 28, at the age of 91.

Ed will be missed by all and sundry, especially his family and fans.

At the age of 91, he still has plans of what he still wants to do for the world, when he spoke to Closer earlier this year, Ed said ”If the good Lord is in a generous mood, he can give me another 91 years and I can show the world what I can do.

Ed was born on November 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri. Ed once served the country when he joined the U.S Army Signal Corps during the war and after his service, he went into acting as that’s what he has always loved.

Ed started as part of the theatre scene in Chicago before he started getting prominent roles like Outer limits and mission impossible.

He was already on the path to the spotlight when these roles helped him make things easier. At first, he was hesitant to take the role of Lou Grand in the smash-hit series, as he wasn’t so sure of his abilities.

When the show finally took off, Ed became everyone’s favorite and captured the hearts of the audience.

Ed was also on Rich man, Poor man, and roots and they both earned him an award.

In 2018, he was cast in the Netflix dark comedy, Dead to Me.

Asner wasn’t just an actor, he was also a political activist, serving two terms in the Screen Actors Guild, he opposed United States policy in Central America. He was also involved in the movement to free Mumia Abu-Jamal, the movement to establish California One care and a host of others.

Asner also worked with Nicole Zwiren, a filmmaker, producing a documentary Behind the Fear which addresses HIV/AIDS denialism.

Ed had three kids with Nancy Skyes, his wife whom he cheated on with the mother of his last child, Charles Edward Vogelman. He is the grandfather of 10 children.

Talking about cheating on his wife, he said he lost his wife and marriage. He so much regrets the mistake that caused him the love of his life.
