Ashley & Wynonna reveals that Naomi Judd planned her memorial in advance

Naomi Judd died by suicide on April 30, just two days before the mother daughter band will be inducted into the Country music hall of fame.

The country mourned a great loss and her daughters, Ashley & Wynonna revealed that their mother committed suicide with a gun.

Ashley Judd was the one who found her mother’s body. She was with her almost throughout the day and when Ashley stepped out to find someone who could comfort her, Naomi went upstairs and took her life.

A statement from Ashley and Wynonna to the Associated Press said, “Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

On May 7, 2022, she had a befitting private memorial service and the likes of Dolly Parton, Vince Gill and Bon where in attendance.

On May 15 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, another memorial was held on her behalf.

“Our mother couldn’t hang on until she was inducted into the Hall of Fame by her peers. That is the level of the catastrophe of what was going on inside of her,,” Ashley Judd revealed in an emotional interview.

Naomi Judd seems to have planned her death as she told her daughters that during her memorial, the music should be more of gospel instead of country music.

“This is very much the service she wanted. She had it all written down, and so she took the guesswork out of it for us, which we thank her for,” Wynonna stated.

Ashley added: “This is where Mom wanted her public celebration to take place,” and revealed that her mother had planned the details of her funeral prior to her passing.

Many people took to their social media to honor her.

Miranda Lambert tweeted, “I’m thankful I got to spend just a little time with Naomi,” she tweeted. “Praying for peace for this family. Rest easy.”

Reba McEntire on May 1, 2022, tweeted, “We’ve been down the long road together. I sure miss my buddy. Rest In Peace. Finally. Love you Naomi.”

Carrie Underwood also expressed his grief on twitter saying, “Country music lost a true legend…sing with the angels, Naomi!!! We’re all sending up prayers for the Judd family today.”

May she rest in peace.
