Trump and Melania Demand ABC Fire Jimmy Kimmel Over ‘Expectant Widow’ Joke at Correspondents’ Dinner

President Trump has joined his wife Melania in demanding that ABC fire late night host Jimmy Kimmel right away. This comes after Kimmel made a tasteless joke calling Melania an expectant widow during a monologue just days before the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The president shared his thoughts on Truth Social saying Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC. He pointed out that Kimmel who already struggles with low ratings went too far this time. Trump described how the comedian used a fake video showing Melania and their son Barron sitting in the studio audience as if they were really there listening which of course they never would be.

The whole thing blew up because the Trumps actually attended the big DC dinner this year for the first time in their time back in the White House. It drew extra attention especially after what happened that night.

On his show Kimmel had mocked the event and said something like look at Melania so beautiful with a glow like an expectant widow. Melania fired back hard earlier that Monday calling Kimmel a coward who hides behind the network knowing they will protect him. She posted on X that enough is enough and it is time for ABC to take a stand against this kind of behavior.

The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt who was there that night and is nine months pregnant backed them up fully. She asked how anyone could say a wife would be glowing over the idea of her husband being murdered and said from what she saw Melania was anything but calm during the scary moment.

Both women had to crawl off stage with security rushing the president to safety after a gunman tried to attack the event. A Secret Service agent got minor injuries in the chaos and the suspect Cole Allen was later charged in court.

This is actually the second time Trump has called for Kimmel to be fired. Back in September 2025 there was similar drama after some other comments and a suspension that led to boycotts and a lot of debate.
